J.B. & Mello Mike Hype
J.B. (J. Bologna) & Mello Mike Hype (Mike Wheeler) is a duo out of NYC, both are rapping and producing. In 1994 they released their first 12" single on Street Funk Records with the two tracks "Smoove Ruffness" & "Defenders Of Da Funk". Both joints are really dope! "Smoove Ruffness" is some ruff, rugged & raw shit with a heavy bassline and some nice horn stabs. They also made a video for that tune! (shot and edited by Dean Raimondo) "Defenders Of Da Funk" comes funky with a harmonica sample. Both tracks are produced by J.B. & Mello Mike Hype. In 1995 they followed with their second single titled "Dillsnick", check out the video!
